Who is your founder? Why did she choose this profession?
Our founder is Ashima Bohra who is an Architect through bachelors & Interior Designer through Masters from George Washington University, Washington DC.
What was the driving force behind starting your brand? Share a little about the founder’s creative background and its influence on the brand.
Honestly, starting my own brand wasn’t always a plan, it happened with a friends call, She is a childhood friend and was a homebaker who wanted to start her own cafe in Udaipur, As she had known me for the longest time, she placed her belief in me that I would be the creative behind her cafe space, which turned out to be a great success and everyone loved the vibe of the space, that’s where it all started. Projects keep rolling in.
How did you zero in on the name Tatvaj? What is the meaning? Why did you choose the particular logo?
We wanted a name that we could connect with & always go back to, we wanted to have something in sanskrit but not too complex either, and after a couple of iterations we zeroed down to Tatvaj. Tatvaj – Its derived from the Sanskrit word Tattva – which means “Principle” or “Reality”. Tattva also represents the 5 Elements – Earth , Water, Fire, Air & Ether. Each element is the manifestation of primal cosmic energy (Shakti).
What advice would you give to someone interested in designing/ decorating homes?
Bring your personality into design, as each & every individual is unique, it will always stand out .
